Northpaw's Bouncing Bogie - (April 20, 1998 - August 06, 2006)
As a puppy Brenda and Val knew Bogie was going to do great things, he was the one that got them started into weight pulling. The first weight pull we went to, they hooked Bogie up, and he pulled it with ease. So they knew he was going to do well, he was a natural.
Bogie was well liked by everyone, but when it came to competing he always gave 100 percent, no matter how high the weight got. People were always amazed by Bogie. He would take a nap in between his pulls, and he would take his sweet time walking into the chute, but once hooked up, he would pull his butt off. Surprising competitors and anyone watching. His top pulling weight was 4200 pounds, which I'm sure he would have pulled more but they ran out of weight. He continuously pulled 3000 to 4000 pounds.
Of course, Brenda and Val never expected Bogie to get Bone Cancer, which cut his weight pulling career and life short. Too short! He is to this day dearly missed, but he lives on through Raider and now Han Solo (Raider's son).
Bogie won and or placed in every event and competition, including winning the Gold on Snow in Cadillac, Michigan in the 2001/2002 season, which was a total surprise. Than winning the Bronze medal on wheels in Loveland, Colorado in the 2002/2003 season.
