Regional Hall of Fame 2019 - Royal's Conqueror Prince Mufasa

Royal's Conqueror Prince Mufasa

Region 9
Royal's Conqueror Prince Mufasa
Owner/Handler: Robbie and Terry Reed

Prince Mufasa came to the Reed home at 7 months old as a rescue that was very abused and neglected. He is a Dogue De Bordeaux. Prince Mufasa would be now nearly 9 years old. Every day brings new challenges for him but he has progressed extremely well; now at times even to male compassion. Prince Mufasa was generally pulled by Robbie. But due to several hand surgeries, Robbie hadn't been able to pull him. So, Terry and Mufasa become quite a pair. Terry continued to pull him quite softly (which isn't easy for Robbie or Terry) because Mufasa doesn't respond well to raised voices.

In December 2018 Mufasa became visibly very sick. Terry and Robbie took him to vet hospital after vet hospital to see numerous Specialists as he grew increasingly more sick and weaker. Only 6 weeks later he was laid to rest and crossed over Rainbow Bridge on January 29th, 2019.

The reality is that Prince Mufasa slowly began deteriorating several months prior to his passing. It was only after he was laid to rest, did the true answer become clear about his health. It was discovered the prescription can food he had been fed was contaminated with excessively high levels of Vitamin D. Prince Mufasa suffered from Vitamin D toxicity. Mufasa's major organs were effected to a degree that his liver and kidneys were shutting down. As a result, he became increasingly weaker and weaker.

The Reeds want anyone who has a dog that obviously appears sick and vets have a difficult time diagnosing what's wrong, always think about the source being contaminated food.

During Prince Mufasa's weight pull career, his personal bests are; Carpet 3740 lbs., Dirt 3965 lbs., Artificial Snow 1580 lbs. and Natural Snow 710 lbs. He successfully earned a total combined 14 Regional medals and 6 International Medals, his last being the 2018 reigning 150 pound class Wheels Gold Medalist.

The Reeds' lives will forever be changed because of the unconditional love that Mufasa blessed their lives with. Prince Mufasa has lived up to his name by conquering so many terrors from his early life. He will forever be missed.… Royal's Conqueror Prince Mufasa.
